We know making the decision to enter recovery treatment can be daunting. We are here to help you understand the options available to you and answer questions about our facility you may have.
Q: IS THERE A WAITLIST?
Our waitlist is constantly fluctuating, we operate an ongoing admissions process.
Q: DOES MEDICAL INSURANCE PAY FOR TREATMENT?
Many private insurance companies will cover the cost for addiction treatment. You will need to contact your provider to determine if they will cover the fee.
Q: DO YOU ACCEPT METHADONE OR SUBOXONE?
We do accept clients currently utilizing Methadone or Suboxone.
Q: WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION?
Abstinence from mood-altering substances for 72 hours, along with a drug screening test prior to entering residency.
Q: WHAT CAN I BRING WITH ME?

Q: WHAT CAN I NOT BRING WITH ME?
No drugs, alcohol or an illegal substance. No sexually explicit images, movies or books (including electronic form – cell phones, flash drives, laptops etc.) No personal furniture, small appliances, or tools. No pets. No e-cigarettes or vapes. Vaping is prohibited on-site.
Q: HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO STAY?
Active treatment is 84 days.
Q: AM I ALLOWED TO WORK WHILE PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVE TREATMENT?
No. Active Treatment is a full-time treatment program.
Q: AM I ALLOWED OFF SIMON HOUSE PROPERTY?
You are permitted to come and go as you please when not participating in programs. You are required to be back on the property before curfew at 11:00 PM.
Q: WHAT IF I CAN’T COVER THE COST OF TREATMENT?
There is no cost for treatment for Alberta residents.
Q: CAN I MAKE PHONE CALLS OR HAVE VISITORS?
Phone calls are permitted during scheduled times. Visitors are welcome on-site on weekdays from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM and on weekends from 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
Q: WILL I GET TO KEEP MY CELL PHONE WITH ME?
Clients are required to turn cellphones into the office at 11:00 PM daily and will have them returned the following morning at 8:00 AM if chores are satisfactorily completed.
Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE LIVE AT SIMON HOUSE?
We have three buildings on site that can house up to 67 men.
Q: DO I HAVE TO LIVE ON-SITE TO BE PART OF THE SIMON HOUSE PROGRAM?
Yes. This is a residential program. You must live in residence while participating in the program.
